Spring Chapter Update

Posted over 2 years ago by Adam Brown

Hello Emergency Nurses!

I hope everyone is doing well! Have yourself a mini celebration because the federal government has declared an end to the COVID emergency this week and on May 10th they will also end the "Public Health Emergency" for COVID as well. (There are a lot of layers, as CDC or WHO has not ended the pandemic status.)

Chapter Meeting

I want to remind everyone of upcoming events. Our May meeting is happening 1 week early as previously announced. It will be held on May 2nd at Firebirds restaurant in Winston Salem. Please make sure you RSVP before seats fill up. Free dinner, free CNE, and free 1yr membership to be given away! Please follow the link to RSVP. https://epena.nursingnetwork.com/nursing-events/139953-quarterly-chapter-meeting#!info

CEN Review Class

Our CEN Review class with Pam Bartley has been very popular this year! There are still some seats left. The dates are May 9th and 10th and will be held at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. If you want to get certified, then don't wait to register for this amazing opportunity to prepare yourself for the exam. Tickets and details can be found on our Eventbrite page. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/539566787787

Miscellaneous Reminders

  • If you e-mail your legislative representatives on issues related to emergency nursing, or you participate in injury prevention activities please email confirmation to NEPiedmontENA@gmail.com so we can credit you for chapter participation. These credits go towards things like applying to be a delegate at ENA General Assembly in San Diego.
  • Look out for emails from the state to know when the application for General Assembly representative opens in the next couple of months.
  • If you are interested in running for a board position in 2024 please send us an e-mail on your intent to serve. If you are unsure of what position to run for, or you are just curious about the responsibilities of the roles let us know as well!
  • We will plan an end-of-the-year charity to sponsor. Email us your preferences. It can be sponsoring a family for Christmas, animal welfare, homeless ministries in the triad, etc... The board will take your feedback and vote on a charity.

You hear it often, but I want to keep reminding you... You are heroes! Keep your heads held high, keep fighting the good fight for our patients, and don't let anyone get you down. Until next time.
