Upcoming Chapter Meeting & Announcements
Posted about 3 years ago by Adam Brown
Hello friends!
I hope all of your are getting a much needed respite from the massive waves of COVID we have experienced in the last 2 years. We had to skip February meeting for multiple reasons, so I want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to sign up for our Chapter meeting scheduled for May 10th at Firebirds Wood Fire Grill in Winston Salem. We have 15 seats left so head over to the events page and reserve your seat before they run out. The education will be provided by Angie Alexander from the Metrolina Chapter titled, "It's Not Choking! Non-Fatal Strangulation: What Every ED Nurse Should Know." Make sure to invite all of your ED friends for this educational opportunity and a chance to win a 1 year ENA membership. Dinner is provided by Fisher & Paykel and their high flow nasal cannula products.
A few additional announcements. You can check out our parent NCENA website at NCENA.nursingnetwork.com for more details.
- If you are interested in going to the national conference this year in Denver, CO consider applying to a delegate at the general assembly for NC. You will be provided a generous stipend to cover part of your conference cost, lodging, and travel. I have been a delegate for the last 4 years and it is entertaining watching people debate, and rewarding knowing that you are making a difference in your practice environment.
- Speaking of being a delegate they are selected by the level of engagement you have in the organization. If you want to get involved in the ENA there are plenty of ways to engage. The chapter always needs volunteers for committees, we need leaders willing to run our chapter in the upcoming years (it's not hard), volunteers to help with Stop The Bleed, injury prevention, and other community outreach. If I have sparked your interest please let us know by e-mailing us at NEPiedmontENA@gmail.com.
- This year the state awards application are open early to give your time to nominate a great emergency nurse. Head over to the NCENA page and click on Awards to see they different categories and how to nominate.
- Finally be sure to stay up to date on events, socials, and ENA news by checking in on our website. If your getting this you are already following the Eastern Piedmont, but if you have friends or colleagues tell them to follow our page regardless of their membership status. Also be sure to follow our parent site for state level events at NCENA.Nursingnetwork.com.
See you soon,
Adam
